Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

This policy explains what Nony Softwares Ltd. ("Nony", "we", "us") collects when you use the Nony app or the nonychat.com website, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese.

1. The short version

  • You sign up with a phone number and a nickname — not with your real name or a photo of your face.
  • We store the messages and posts you send so the app can deliver them.
  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • The website uses privacy-friendly analytics that set no cookies and store no persistent device identifiers.
  • You can delete your account, and the data attached to it, from inside the app.

2. What we collect

Information you give us:

  • Account details — phone number (used to verify that you are a real person and to recover your account), nickname, avatar, and any optional profile details such as age, gender or the languages you speak.
  • Content — messages, voice notes, photos, videos, posts and comments you send through the app.
  • Contact form submissions — the email address, topic and message you send us through this website or the app.
  • Contacts — only if you explicitly grant contacts permission, so the app can show you which of your contacts already use Nony. You can decline, and the rest of the app keeps working.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and technical data — device model, operating system version, app version, language and time zone.
  • Usage data — when you open the app, which features you use, matches started and ended, and crash reports. We use this to fix bugs and decide what to build next.
  • IP address — used for security, abuse prevention and approximate country-level location. We do not collect GPS location.
  • Purchase records — which subscription or coin pack you bought, received from Apple. We never see your card details.

3. Why we use it

  • To run the Service — deliver your messages, match you with other users and keep your account working across devices.
  • To keep people safe — detect spam, harassment and illegal content, investigate reports, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To support you — answer the messages you send us and investigate the problems you report.
  • To improve the app — understand which features are used and where people get stuck.
  • To process purchases — activate a subscription or coin balance after Apple confirms a payment.
  • To comply with the law — respond to lawful requests and keep records we are required to keep.

4. Legal bases (for users in the EEA and the UK)

We process your data to perform our contract with you (running the Service), on the basis of our legitimate interests (keeping the platform safe, preventing abuse, improving the product), on the basis of your consent where we ask for it (contacts access, push notifications), and to comply with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time in your device settings.

5. Website analytics

This website uses Pulsecat, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count visits and understand which pages people read. Pulsecat sets no cookies, writes nothing to local storage and does not create persistent device identifiers; visitors are counted using a hash that rotates daily. No personal profile is built and no data is sold or shared for advertising.

You can read what Pulsecat collects at pulsecat.co. If you use a browser or extension that blocks analytics, the site works exactly the same.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We do share it with the following categories of recipient, only as far as they need it to do their job:

  • Infrastructure and hosting providers that run our servers, databases and file storage.
  • Apple, which processes App Store purchases and delivers push notifications.
  • Content-safety and translation providers used to screen reported material — text sent for screening is limited to the reported content.
  • Analytics providers, as described above.
  • Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to respond, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm.

If Nony is ever involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the new owner. We will tell you before that happens and the new owner will remain bound by this policy.

7. What other users see

Other users see your nickname, avatar and any profile details you chose to fill in, plus the content you send them or post publicly. They do not see your phone number, your email address or your IP address.

Remember that anything you share inside a chat can be screenshotted or saved by the person you are talking to. Share accordingly.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your profile and content from the live Service; residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before they are overwritten.

We keep a limited record of accounts removed for serious breaches — such as a hashed identifier and the reason — so that banned users cannot immediately return. We keep purchase and tax records for as long as the law requires.

9. Security

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it, and moderation actions are logged.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to complain to your data protection authority.

The fastest way to delete everything is Settings → Delete account inside the app. For any other request, write to us at [email protected] and we will respond within the period the law allows — usually 30 days. We may ask you to verify control of your account before we act.

11. Children

Nony is not for people under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child is using the app, report the account inside the app or write to us and we will remove it.

12. International transfers

Nony operates from Israel and uses providers located in Israel, the European Union and the United States. Where data leaves the EEA or the UK, we rely on an adequacy decision or on standard contractual clauses to protect it.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you inside the app before it takes effect.

14. Contact

For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected] or use the contact page on this website.
